[ After the party and Everything that happened in it, Percy decides to honor Yves' request and snag him for some of that alone time they talked about. He's of the mind that maybe he should...be a little more presentable as a treat...so he puts his hair up in a little ponytail and freshens up before he goes to his boyfriend.
He's already blushing before he arrives...but when he gets there, he looks up at Yves and rubs the back of his head sheepishly. ]
[ Alone time... That party sure takes up a social battery. So much chaos... And yet. They are somehow a alive in spite of our attempts to kill them, damn.
Poor Yves he might know what he's asking for, but also content to let it just be... yanno. Time with his boyfriend! Nothing weird about that.
He freshened up too before coming here, and while he's happy to see Percy, there's something on his mind. He's fiddling with one of the ribbons ties that made it over his shoulder. ]
[ That's all he has to say, and he's pretty sure that's all he needs to say because his grip on Yves' hand is tight. He hopes that despite how cold it is, it's still comforting. Percy's free hand reaches up and – after a brief pause, because he'll give Yves a moment to swat his hand away if he'd like – he takes off the mask.
It is a pretty intense scar and the details are much clearer in-person – he'll admit that much. Still, Percy's expression remains largely unchanged, and the only noticeable shift is in how his eyes are glancing over it, understanding that this is what Yves looks like.
And, true to his word, it changes nothing. He's still smiling. ]
Thank you. ... It means a lot to me that you're open to showing me this.
[ The only real feeling of discomfort stems from imagining what kind of agony Yves went through to even get something this severe, but that's not something he'll mention. Especially since that same hand is now setting the mask down in favor of putting his palm on Yves' cheek. ]
I meant what I said – I've always liked you because you're you, Yves.
[ He hesitates, not because he's trying to find the words but more like he needs the courage to say them.
Here goes nothing. ]
...And, you know...love isn't easy to shake off. I don't see a reason why I should stop feeling it now.
[ Reflex has him raise his hand to stop Percy, but he manages to stop it. He's still so on edge and scared, not because of any fear of rejection, but because of how much he hates this scar. How it ruined his life and left him all alone... Even one of his oldest friends was horrified by it and couldn't hide his disgust. But even when he can't stand it, while he still has it in this ugly life that he was once ready to toss aside when he could afford it to make it disappear, he still has a tiny, seemingly impossible wish:
"Please accept me."
And he is. There's a hand on that cheek, and it's one of the gentlest things he's ever felt. He doesn't mind where Percy looks, because it's full of warmth and care. For him, not his appearance. ]
...
[ He can't even get the words out to say how grateful he is-- they're caught in his throat as he starts sobbing. ]
[ ...Ah, no, wait. That's...not a bad sort of crying, is it. Percy knows why Yves is having this reaction, and if he's not being pushed away, if Yves isn't curling into himself and pushing Percy away (because he saw that hand raise and he knows Yves would've if he wanted to) – then this is a good thing.
He's not entirely sure what to do, but Percy doesn't want to do nothing. Especially when Yves was there for him in his nightmares. Percy doesn't really have tissues or anything, so the next thing he decides to do – which may be the better option to take – is to gently brush away some of Yves' tears with his thumb.
Then, he lets go of Yves completely and opts to wrap his arms around the other boy instead. Much better, he hopes. ]
[ Percy really is a special guy... it's not much, but yes, brushing away his tears like that is a very tender thing to do for him, and so sweet. He probably looks like a mess along with that scar on top of it, with the red around his eyes likely matching the pulsing red marks throughout the black skin.
Percy can probably feel those hiccups while he hugs Yves. He calms down a little, hugging Percy back and sniffling. ]
I'm sorry... but hearing that from you... It means so much.
[ Yves really seemed like he needed a hug, so now they're here. It's very sweet. ]
Does it really? I'm glad I said it, then. And hey, you chose me, right? I'm not exactly alive, so I'm really in no position to say anything negative, even if I wanted to. And I don't, for the record.
[ He's just trying to add a little bit of humor in hopes of cheering Yves up a little. On that note, though: ]
I'm sorry people were so cruel to you about this. [ He pulls back slightly so he can look at Yves. Who cares if he's a mess? Percy sure doesn't. ] I think they're missing out, though, since my life's so much better with you in it.
[ Hearing that first part hurts and it makes him sad – but the second part completely catches him off-guard. Somehow he wasn't expecting Yves to feel the same way, but he does, and that Yves is willing to give up something he's wanted in favor of...loving him? Loving Percy? ]
...Yves...
[ That's something he's struggling to comprehend, but it means so much. He hugs Yves much tighter. ]
...If you stay here, you won't – die young. Right?
[ He rubs Percy's back. He feels healthy right now, and to be honest, he was doing better than others his age. But it remains a mystery, and he doesn't want to give Percy any false hope... That's too cruel. ]
[ Five more years. It seems like a while left on paper, but in reality, those five years are going to go by so fast. He'll have Ashley, of course, and she isn't to be discredited in any way – but after those five years are over...
There's going to be a void where Yves once was. He already knows how that'll go, especially with losing his sister, but this time he's got someone else counting on him to keep it together. He doesn't know if he'll be able to, when the day inevitably comes.
Yves is right, though. If he's only got five more years, he'd better make it count – and the thought of how unfair that is, is enough to make Percy misty-eyed. ]
...Hey.
[ He gently tries to coax Yves to look at him, and when it happens, Percy doesn't hesitate to lean in for a kiss. ]
[ And a kiss he gets. It's not a desperate or hurried one... like maybe it could be reassuring? That's hard to convey, but he's known since birth how long his life would be, even with the extension of sorts as a Reliver. ]
I love you. I want to be by your side when I can, for as long as I can.
[ It's probably not enough, he thinks. He wants to be sure those days are happy though. Ashley will not be discounted! Yves wants to be a good friend to her too and whatever may happen. ]
[ Already he's trying to think of ways to fix that, to prolong Yves' life so he's not limited to a measly 23 years. But then Yves outright says he loves Percy, and Percy is breathless. He's quiet for a moment too long, but he tugs Yves closer and looks up at him with a bashful smile on his face. ]
I'd like that, obviously. [ Despite the sad reality they're faced with, he's still blushing. ] I love you, too.
Why were you thinking about them? They're delicious, but they're not that hard to eat.
[ ... ]
The ones you handled and left on the counter looked out of place separated from the rest and ripened faster, so I'd eat them before anyone would notice.
[ We sure are having this conversation now, aren't we. ]
But is – is that really what you want? It's not like I'm super impressive, and I've never even...you know...done stuff with a guy before? It might be pretty bad.
[ He is completely missing the point, but he's also just kind of in disbelief, so. ]
I don't mind. It's not like I expect something perfect or awe-inspiring.
[ It's... what it is. An optional activity in physical relationships that has been considered by poor Percy and unfortunately perceived by the last person he wants to see that. ]
I was also going to do it for you. That's what I thought was the easiest way to deal with your anguish.
Well, I haven't done this for a guy either, but...
[ he wants to do something for Percy. Plain and simple. ]
If I mess up or it's terrible, you'll let me know, right? You can learn from my mistakes.
[ Yves smiles... and he tugs on Percy's shirt to pull him into another kiss. Don't mind his hands wandering to his sides, pushing up the hem to touch bare skin. ]
[ They're definitely in one of their rooms (????) for this, so the bed is right there, thankfully. Percy situates himself on it, and as soon as Yves joins him, he turns to face him and leans in again for another kiss. He also goes back to being a little handsy by placing his hands on Yves' waist again. ]
[ Yeah, probably Percy/Ashley's room, with her politely ushered to spend the night elsewhere. Yves promised to rewatch Lord of the Rings with her! At this moment wants to return to being handsy again too, but this does have him ask, in very curious and maybe a little bit of a playful tone ]
Should I strip down for you? Or can I... for you.
[ He wouldn't have to for himself, but... he is not oblivious to what Percy likes. RIP to Percy. ]
[ Ohhhh goodness. Just the idea of thinking about Yves?? Stripping?? Is kinda...yeah, he'd like to see that, but he'd also like to spoil his boyfriend a little. ]
Can I take care of it for you?
[ He lifts up Yves' shirt a bit more to accentuate his point. Then, he uses a hand to tug on his own. ]
If you don't mind getting rid of this for me, that is.
Of course. But you can go first, so we don't get tangled up.
[ He lets go so he can be peeled like a banana stripped down. I don't think it's anything new but Yves remains patient.
Until he gives Percy a hug right after before his turn because he can't keep his hands to himself and getting hugged by your undressed boyfriend is probably evil. ]
[ Percy has fallen right into Yves' trap card. He removes his top, and it's not the first time he's seen Yves shirtless but the scenario makes this so much different than the beach.
And then Yves is...hugging him......... ]
N-no it's not.
[ He sounds a little pouty, but he returns the embrace and buries his nose in Yves' neck. ]
C'mon, if you're seriously cold, I'm not doing a good job.
@yves, w7

You saw my scar before, but it was a dream...

[ Aw, Yves. Percy hadn't thought to ask about it, given how sensitive of a subject it is for him, but he'll at least offer a soft smile.
A genuine question: ]
Do you think it's gonna change how I think of you?

[ He believes it, he wants to put on a smile for Percy to prove it. But Yves still hesitates on what to do. ]
So if I take it off... Or if I let you do it... Nothing should happen.

Honestly...? The thought of losing you is way scarier than anything else.
